Today was the big Halloween party at my work. Our little worm in the dirt cup station was a HUGE hit! We made 250 cups - used 9 bags of gummi worms, 9 packages of Oreo cookies, and a HUGE can of chocolate pudding. We put two cookies and 2-3 worms in baggies, put the baggies in the cups, then stuck a plastic spoon in and set them all up on a table for when the kids came in the room. We also put some little prizes in some of the cups - some had temporary tattoos and some had little baby glow-in-the-dark rubber ducks (Halloween-style - the ducks were dressed up as witches, mummies, cats, etc.). The kids really seemed to enjoy it and we got lots of compliments from parents saying that they thought our idea was really creative and they really liked the interactivity of it. Bonus!!!
Other than that it was a pretty uneventful day. I'm gearing up for NaNoWriMo! The kick-off party is tomorrow after we're all done with the whole Trick-or-Treating thing. Dan will be taking the kiddos around the neighborhood while I stay home to pass out the candy. Our porch looks great, all covered in fake spiderwebs, and we have this little spider that drops down on people's heads before it pulls itself back up again. It's motion- and sound-triggered so we hung it right over the doorbell. It ought to be fun!
Ok, time to get some rest. Tomorrow's going to be a long day with the kick-off party and all, so... yeah. Hasta peeps!
